Well the MANZA Melbourne Cup at the Grand Hyatt was such a fabulous, fun day on Tuesday 5th November! It’s always so amazing to see the enormous effort put into the beautiful hats, fascinators and outfits worn by both ladies and the men, and today was no exception! And the photos can speak for themselves! (The professional photos aren’t available yet, so there will be more coming!)
Thank you to everyone who came and made it such a success. We really appreciate your support, as the Committee puts a lot of work into organising these events and to see such a great turnout was very rewarding for us.
The bubbles, West Winds Gin, (which was a favourite of the day, with many comments about the excellent quality of the Gin) wine and beer flowed smoothly all day. Thank you to Callan Green from West Winds for the generous sponsorship.
The race was beamed in on very large screens around the room, so we could all see and feel the excitement building up at Flemington whilst the Calcutta was being called and tables were vying against one another for the winning horse!
And the winner is….. no 23, Vow And Declare To Table No 1! Congratulations!
The day flew by so fast, a delicious lunch was followed by the Raffle Draw Prizes as well as prizes for Fashions on the Field. It was a difficult task for the judges and we just wish everyone could have been given a prize as the ensembles were stunning!
Bluestar Amg kindly donated a brand new Iphone 11 as a Lucky Draw Prize and there was a very happy winner of this valuable prize!
We then danced the afternoon away. It was nearly 6pm before the last of our guests left the Ballroom to head home, some of us to an early bed, but we’re sure the party carried on into the night somewhere else!
